Why I support the Tolfree Foundation...
“During the many years I have worked for West Branch Regional Medical Center, I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for the auxilliary volunteers. That soft place grew to great admiration when I learned of the amount of money they raised each year to finance specific projects for the medical center. I was excited when I learned back in 1989 that I could have a part in building the future for the hospital. That was the year I began contributing an hour's pay, each pay period, through the payroll deduction program to the Tolfree Foundation. There have been some employees over the years who asked me why I continued to do this. No, I have not always agreed with every decision made by administration or even my supervisor. But when the chips are down, I KNOW this is the hospital and these are the people who will be caring for MY loved ones in our time of need. When I need medical care, this is the medical center I will be brought to. I want to feel confident in knowing I did what little I could to enable West Branch Regional Medical Center to provide me and mine with the best medical care possible. I can't complain about a problem if I am not willing to CONTRIBUTE to the solution.
Now that I work in the downtown campus, there are many times when I walk the halls that the memories of all of the employees and patients that have gone before assail my mind. I am humbled by the spirit of compassionate care that still lingers in the corridors and I want to be a part of that legacy for my community and that is why I support the Tolfree Foundation.”
